Discussion:
What's the new SPDX name for a Public Domain license?

All,

I don't see basic "Public Domain" in the SPDX list. So how do we designate it?

In my specific case, the license reads:

=============================================
Public Domain Software
Simson L. Garfinkel
Naval Postgraduate School

Release Date: May 2010

The software provided here is released by the Naval Postgraduate
School, an agency of the U.S. Department of Navy. The software bears
no warranty, either expressed or implied. NPS does not assume legal
liability nor responsibility for a User's use of the software or the
results of such use.

Please note that within the United States, copyright protection, under
Section 105 of the United States Code, Title 17, is not available for
any work of the United States Government and/or for any works created
by United States Government employees.

Thanks
Greg

CPL-1 would be my guess according to <http://license.opensuse.org/?q=&w=1>

As Public Domain is basically the lack of license, spdx does not cover it.

We decided to have everything that is not covered by spdx, prefixed by
SUSE, so put SUSE-Public-Domain in there

Note, that rpmlint might not have an uptodate list yet - we're still in
the process of finding the list of licenses. There are still > 500
packages that are not covered by our automatic conversion.

BTW looks like your converter script contains a minor bug. It updates
ChangeLog even there was nothing to change, for example here
https://build.opensuse.org/package/rdiff?linkrev=base&package=libev&project=server%3Ahttp&rev=10

Would be nice to fix that.

Ah ok. Strange I couldn't see that somehow as I've looked at it
yesterday.

Antother thing, in r7 "prepare_spec" you removed all "Group" fields from
subpackages which breaks SLE builds. Does this happened on purpose?
(It's actually fixed again.)

See the thread with subject "format_spec_file service".
