Requests for Donations In Packages

Hi all,

The openSUSE Board was recently made aware of a case where a package
description, spec file and OBS description, contained a request for
donation to a given account.

We feel very strongly that this violates the spirit of our guiding principals.

Therefore we ask all project maintainers to not accept packages that
may contain requests for donations into top level devel projects

We're making sure the Packaging Guidelines on the wiki get updated to
reflect this policy.

Hopefully everyone supports this decision, if not I'm happy to discuss
things here, alternatively this seems like a good opportunity to
remind everyone that the openSUSE Board can be contacted privately at
***@opensuse.org
